Diwali Week in FS1

This week we have been learning about the festival Diwali. We have learnt that Diwali is the festival of light. In FS1 we have looked at how Hindu people might celebrate the festival. We have talked about wearing special party clothes, having party food at a family feast, firework displays, lighing diya lamps and creating rangoli patterns.

We have loved making our own rangoli patterns using our new lightbox and shapes or using gems and beads. We have created owr own Mendhi designs on hand templates.We know Diwali lasts for 5 days and always takes place in either October or November. We have also listened to the story of Rama and Sita. 

We have also enjoyed joining in with Children in Need day. We looked amazing!
