Parent Information
Parents as Partners
Heather Garth is a happy school where we aim to achieve high standards in all areas of school life. School opening times are 8.35am to 3.05pm (32.5 hours per week). We also offer a Breakfast club each morning. Please contact the school office for more details and to book a place.
Teachers, parents/carers and children need to work together for children to achieve their best. The school website includes a blog for each class, this enables parents/carers to see what their child’s class has been doing during the week and leave comments on the work displayed.
Parents/carers are encouraged and expected to take an interest in their child’s education. If any parent/carer would like to help in school on a regular basis, then please contact your child’s class teacher who will be more than happy to make arrangements for you.
Consultation afternoons/evenings are held three times a year. These enable parents/ carers to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher. An appointment system is used on these occasions to enable parents/ carers and teachers to speak confidentially and to reduce waiting times. A written report detailing their child’s progress over the year is sent to all parents/carers in the Summer term.
Parents/carers are welcome to visit the school at any time. However, it is advisable to make an appointment if you have a matter which you wish to discuss with a member of staff.
Equal Opportunities
The school is committed to promoting equal opportunities for all in every aspect of school life and activity. We recognise that everyone is unique and will give each individual the opportunity to develop their abilities fully in an environment which is free from all forms of unfair treatment, discrimination and harassment.
