Diwali

This week we have been learning about the festival Diwali. We have looked at the different ways people around the world celebrate Diwali - the festival of light. Children have acquired knowledge about different ways people celebrate this is festival:

• Wearing special party clothes
• Visiting the Temple
• Having party food at a family feast
• Firework displays
• Lighing diya lamps. 
• Creating rangoli patterns

Some of us have made rangoli patterns using our lightbox and shapes or using gems and beads. Children have created their own Mendhi designs on hand templates. We have also read and discussed the story of Rama and Sita. it's been a brilliant week!
