FS1 17.05

Date: 17th May 2024 @ 1:44pm

This week we have been creating some wonderful observational drawings of flowers, and have thoroughly enjoyed our walks around the school grounds (even if we did get a bit wet in the rain). We have been exploring all the different things we can see – the different shapes of the leaves and how many different ones we can spot. Mrs Salt is our resident expert and was explaining all the different trees and flowers we could find. We have also loved walking through the forest and hearing the twigs snap under our feet and listen to all the wonderful sounds around us. (We heard birds singing, people talking, dogs barking and the rain going pitter patter).

We have learnt all about what a flower needs to survive and how to name all the different parts of a flower (petal, leaves, stem and roots).

In Maths this week we have looked at positional language and been busy describing where our Teddy is (on, under, between, next to, behind). Also, we have been busy making shape pictures using all the 2D shapes we have been learning.

We have also loved crazy pattern day today -it was wonderful to see such an array of colour and shapes on display.
