Great first 2 weeks back...
Date: 14th Jan 2022 @ 4:35pm
Our first 2 weeks back in school have been very busy and full of exciting learning! The children have been very excited to share their photos that have been sent in by parents. It has been wonderful to hear about their own home experiences and them recounting their own special times with family. This links to our Understanding of the World element of our EYFS curriculum. Some children have written their own sentences about the photographs and some children's photos have been annotated by a member of staff showing the children's own words, e.g. "That's me as a baby". Lots of us commented about how they have changed since being a baby. For instance comments were said such as:
"Look I was really small when I was a baby".
"Mummy and Daddy had to feed me, but now I can feed myself".
"I've grown a lot since I was a baby".
"I didn't have much hair when I was born, now I have really long hair".
"I had no teeth when I was a baby. Now I have teeth but some are starting to get wobbly because I will get my big teeth".
We are so proud of how lots of our children are becoming mature and independent. We continue to support all children to be as independent as possible to gain the really important skills that will help them throughout their school journey at Heather Garth.
