Mad about minibeasts

In EYFS we have been very lucky to 5 of our own caterpillars! We have watched them each day to see how they are changing to support our understanding of the life cycle of a caterpillar/butterfly. Children have also been learning facts about different insects. We have used 'Google' to search for information and also used non-fiction texts to learn about different minibeasts. This has inspired lots of children to draw pictures, write labels and make representations of minibeasts (using different materials such as playdough). In Drawing Club we have used our core text 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' to learn about healthy and unhealthy foods and also the importance of healthy teeth e.g. brushing our teeth twice per day.
