Welcome back Year 5

Well done to all of year 5 for a great first full week back at school. You have all settled back into school brilliantly. 

All children now have their reading books for the week and have been given their due day for reading and a book review. We ask that children complete 4 reads throughout their week plus a book review. Write these in your planner as you go and then bring your planner to be checked on your given day to earn your raffle ticket. Homework and spellings have also been given out; the spelling test will be on Wednesday and homework is due on Thursday. 

The children have started with the by focussing on place value for maths and have been working hard with this. We have also begun our Geography work with focus on 'The Amazon.' This week the children looked at the countries of South America where the Amazon is found.
