Y4 Digestion Science Experiment
Date: 13th Sep 2024 @ 2:39pm
After learning about the process of digestion earlier this week, Y4 put their understanding into practise with a practical activity. The bowls acted as our mouths with the knife as teeth and the spatula as our tongue. We added food and water (saliva). It then travelled down the oesophagus into the stomach (food bag) where we added orange juice to act as stomach acid before churning. It then travelled through the intestines (tights) where the nutrients and water were released. We were then left with the waste which came out through the hole in the paper cup (like a number 2 toilet trip!). The children had lots of fun exploring this process in a practical way.
