Year 3 Mining Trip

The children in Year 3 had a lovely history day at the National Coal Mining Museum today. They all took part in an underground tour and even though some were a little nervous, they really got stuck in and learned lots about what mining life was like. We also experienced what it was like with absolutely no light. I think the thought of children in the past having to work in those conditions made us all feel rather sorry for them. 

They did Heather Garth proud on our visit too being polite to all the guides and other people in the museum, so well done for that too Year 3.
